"Friday afternoon in the universe"
Well, Friday morning to be precise. Its my birthday, I've taken the day off and the inverse laws of the universe mean that on the day I actually can sleep in for the first time in weeks I am up and awake at 0555. I've been travelling this week with our CEO Thomas, in Amsterdam visiting MSN, in London with Yahoo and Orange and finishing off with the team in Highgate's best curry house Kiplings with a Lamb Lucknow and several pints of Cobra. Thomas has the new iPhone and I've got gadget envy. We are launching MatchMobile this month and in our conversations with our mobile partners when we mention the iPhone they don't think the technology is game changing ....... which I take to mean it is. This covetous little device combined with new thinking on data tariffs is the coming of age for mobile web-browsing and more simply ........ its a beautiful looking piece of kit. I now know what I want for my birthday.
Catching up on email and blog postings, my favourite this week is a really insightful speech by Jyri Engestrom, the founder of Jaiku on social media I defintely want to follow up on the thinking about micro-blogging and the necessary requirements for disruptive technoilogies - check it out.
