Meet Match.com Team UK - James
My name is James Duggan and I’m the Online Marketing Manager at Match.com.
Although this is possibly the greatest job I have ever had if i wasn’t at Match.com my dream job would be a professional sports star, because i love watching and playing all sports. I support Arsenal and go to the games as much as i can, although haven’t been to the new Emirates Stadium - which is on my wish list for next season! I play as many sports as i can with my main interest in Hockey, so a professional hockey player would be ideal if there was such a thing!
Whilst our offices in Highgate are great I would much rather they where based in Australia because i went travelling there a few years ago and absolutely loved it, warm weather, great people and BBQ's on the beach....who wouldn’t love it there?!
If i was having a dinner party and i could invite anyone (living or dead, any amount of people) i would invite all my mates, my family and my girlfriend because they are what mean most to me.
My favourite thing in the whole wide world is my bed. Its just so comfortable! I love sleeping in on a Sunday morning, and just generally lazing around on it whenever i can watching TV and relaxing - or writing this!
My least favourite thing (s) in the whole wide world is the mortgage because i recently bought a flat with my girlfriend and I am still not used to 'budgeting' my own money!
My favourite smell is the earthy smell just after it has rained for the first time in a while. It reminds me of playing football and generally messing around whilst on holiday when i was younger.
My favourite book is The Da Vinci Code i love it because it is a great mix of facts and fiction. It gets you thinking about history and the secrets of the past, but still keeps the excitement of a good storyline.
Internet dating is going to change the world because the team at match are some of the most intelligent and hard working people i have ever met and whilst we enjoy having a good time we wont rest until online dating and match takes over the world!

OD and TD (Traditional offline dating) are two total different ball games and have quite some very different rules. Just one example: OD is opening the door to the seemingly great world of LDR (Long Distance Realtionships). However, LDRs have their very own dynamics and problems. Statistics show that the vast majority of LDRs don't last long.
Don't get me wrong... I think OD is great and has it's special advantages, but people have to be very realistic about it. I know too many people who got hurt deeply in the world of cyber romance.
